Season 3, Podcast #1: George Dikaios

Welcome back to the BIGA Podcast! We are excited to bring you another season filled with guests from a variety of backgrounds from climate diplomacy to the artistic world to green consultancy – this season has something for everyone!

The theme of this season is Green Politics: how climate change affects the UK at home and abroad, what actions our institutions should take, and what we at home should consider too.

Placing this theme in its global context is the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy and Marie Curie Fellow at Leiden University, George Dikaios. He brings his research experience from sunny Athens and overcast Leiden to explain how climate diplomacy is often successful, but its follow-up often falls short. Our conversation then turns to discuss climate diplomacy and its relationship to maritime trade.

Our conversation ends with a provocative question: we are used to an easy-way of life where everything is easily accessible, how much of that are we willing to sacrifice to save the planet?
